The Gritti Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel belonging to Marriott International, is currently recruiting for a Chef de Rang. Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, the Chef de Rang will be part of a team of high-level professionals with a strong passion for F&B.
This is a seasonal, full-time contract role (40-hour working week). It offers an opportunity to work in a place of exceptional art and elegance, where history and culture meet Venetian style. The Gritti is known for impassioned service, a delectable culinary experience, and an intimate wellness haven, serving the world's elite during events like the Biennale, Carnival, and Venice Film Festival.

The impact you’ll make
You will share your menu knowledge and passion with guests, ensuring a memorable dining experience through warm greetings, flawless table settings, and friendly service. Your attention to detail and professionalism will contribute to guest satisfaction and loyalty.
What you’ll be doing
* Welcome guests and attend to tables promptly
* Serve food and beverages, making recommendations as needed
* Assist guests with menu questions and special requests
* Record transactions accurately in the MICROS system
* Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction
* Clean tables, complete closing duties, and restock supplies
* Communicate with the kitchen regarding orders, delays, and dietary needs
* Follow cycle time guidelines and maintain cleanliness of work areas
* Inspect the cleanliness and presentation of china, glass, and silverware
* Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and brand guidelines
What we’re looking for
* Legal right to work in Italy with a valid work permit for full-time employment (40 hours/week)
* Fluent in English and Italian
* Understanding of F&B operations and luxury hospitality
* Positive, outgoing personality with great communication skills
* Team-oriented mindset
* Experience in fine dining restaurants is an advantage
* Knowledge of Micros system is preferred
This role requires the ability to move and lift up to 25 lbs, stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, and maintain a professional appearance in a clean uniform. Safety training and certification will be required prior to employment.
