Applied Medical Europe is seeking a driven and committed Business Developer – Orthopedics to support the expansion of our orthopedic portfolio across Northern Italy.
In this role, you will engage directly with orthopedic surgeons and clinical teams, understand their needs, and build long‑term partnerships through a consultative and ethical sales approach. You will be part of a newly established international team focused on developing new markets across Europe, working closely with colleagues in our European Headquarters in the Netherlands.
This is a field‑based position where you will spend significant time in the operating theater and visiting orthopedic centers specializing in shoulder, and hip procedures. You would be travelling frequently across Northern Italy, and only occasionaly beyond this territory. Success in this role requires integrity, confidence in peer‑level clinical discussions, and strong organizational skills.
This position has the internal title of Territory Manager Ortho and reports to the Field Implementation Manager Horizon II.
Main Responsibilities

Build, maintain and strengthen relationships with key orthopedic stakeholders and decisions makers, including leaders, hospital administrators, associations, and tender boards
Demonstrate the use of our orthopedic products to surgeons, nurses and clinical staff, providing onsite and post‑implementation support
Conduct regular sales forecasting, territory analysis, and develop strategic sales plan
Collaborate closely with international teams in our European HQ and sales colleagues
Develop deep expertise in orthopedic procedures and product applications; support and implement educational events and activities
Stay current with clinical data and communicate relevant insights to healthcare professionals

What you bring

Commercial experience, ideally within the medical device industry
Previous exposure to the operating theater environment
Excellent communication skills in Italian and proficiency in English
Located in a well‑connected area, ideally in Lombardia, Piemonte or the northern part of Emilia Romagna; able and willing to travel frequently (2-3 days per week in each target area)
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to cooperate effectively with cross‑functional teams
A proactive, goal‑oriented mindset with an entrepreneurial approach
Higher education (university level) and experience in Orthopedics field are strong advantages
