is searching for a
CHEF DE RANG
We are looking for a dedicated and service-oriented Chef de Rang to oversee and enhance the dining experience at our restaurant, located in the heart of the Tuscan countryside at Tenuta Toscana.
The ideal candidate will embody the professionalism and refined hospitality that define luxury service, ensuring that every guest enjoys a memorable dining experience. A deep appreciation for Tuscan cuisine and its authentic flavours is essential. The service should be friendly and approachable, combining elegance with a genuine, unpretentious charm that creates a welcoming atmosphere.
This role will report to the Assistant Restaurant Manager and will work in close collaboration to uphold the highest standards of service, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
Main duties and responsibilities
Oversee the service delivery in the assigned section, ensuring a seamless, personalized, and memorable experience for every guest, with a focus on hospitality excellence
Uphold the Tenuta Toscana philosophy by offering tailored dining recommendations, anticipating guest needs, and providing proactive service to exceed expectations
Coordinate with the culinary team to guarantee that each dish is served at the perfect temperature and presented flawlessly, ensuring a smooth connection between kitchen and dining room
Ensure the dining environment maintains its refined atmosphere, from immaculate table settings to ideal lighting and a harmonious ambiance
Engage guests in informative yet relaxed conversations about the origin and characteristics of the dishes and wine selections, enhancing their overall experience
Lead by example, guiding junior team members and commis with professionalism, ensuring adherence to service standards and operational efficiency
Mentor new staff, providing hands-on training and supporting their development in service skills, product knowledge, and attention to detail
Promote a collaborative work culture focused on continuous improvement and shared commitment to excellence, fostering an environment that enhances the guest experience
Ensure the careful handling, maintenance, and use of all restaurant equipment, adhering to established protocols to maintain a well-organized and pristine environment
Support the restaurant's financial performance through effective upselling and waste reduction, ensuring both profitability and resource efficiency
Respect and enforce HACCP guidelines and internal health and safety standards rigorously, maintaining strict compliance to ensure guest and staff wellbeing
Demonstrate professionalism and discretion in all interactions, always maintaining attention to detail and a warm, welcoming demeanour
Uphold the values of Tenuta Toscana by promoting the highest ethical standards, fostering an environment of respect and integrity within the team
Maintain confidentiality regarding guest preferences, team matters, and proprietary company information, ensuring privacy at all times
Requirements
At least 3 years of experience in a service role within a luxury environment, preferably in a 5-star setting
Good knowledge of dining and wine pairings, with an interest in local Tuscan cuisine and wines
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner
Attention to detail, with the ability to anticipate guest needs and ensure a seamless dining experience
Fluent in English and Italian. A third language would represent an advantage
Good organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and keep the section running smoothly
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Familiarity with POS systems and basic restaurant management software is a plu
Professional grooming and appearance, aligned with the standards of a luxury 5-star environment

This position is based in Tuscany. Availability of staff accommodation upon request. Candidates should have a flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays. You must possess the legal right to work in Italy.
