Senior Materials Engineer (Mobility Group)
Headquarters: Turin, Italy. This role supports the Mobility Group in delivering energy‑efficient solutions for internal combustion engine valvetrain components and new product portfolio developments.
What You’ll Do
Plan and execute failure analysis activities and metallurgical verifications on engine components.
Evaluate material properties of existing and new products against internal and customer technical specifications, collaborating with Product Engineers.
Perform laboratory testing on current and advanced valvetrain products, including metrological, metallurgical, chemical, and material evaluations.
Select, set up, and verify test methods, measurement systems, and equipment for design verification, performance testing, and root‑cause analysis.
Collect, analyze, and organize test data; prepare clear technical reports and executive summaries for internal stakeholders and customers or suppliers.
Contribute to team problem‑solving and continuous improvement, identifying enhancements to designs, test methods, troubleshooting approaches, and laboratory procedures.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering or Materials Engineering preferred).
Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in materials engineering or a related technical field.
Skills
Fluent Italian and English, both written and verbal.
Solid knowledge of failure analysis, materials mechanical testing, metallographic analysis, and material characterization techniques.
Experience with mechanical component design and analysis; SEM/EDX operation; and NDT techniques.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and priorities.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, able to achieve results independently and through others.
Analytical and problem‑solving mindset, results‑driven approach.
Proactive, self‑motivated, and eager to learn, with a willingness to grow professionally and take on increasing responsibility.
