The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks within our Rolling Stock Engineering Department. The position is based in Pistoia or Napoli – IT. /p h3Accountabilities /h3 ul liPrepare System Requirements Specifications (SyRS) /li liDefine and manage system interfaces (both internal and external) throughout the entire project lifecycle /li liAnalyze and assess technical documentation from Suppliers /li liPrepare and verify system installation/integration drawings/specifications /li liConduct design reviews (both internal and with suppliers) for the assigned onboard systems, under the supervision of relevant Engineering Managers and Project Engineers /li liPrepare Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS), as well as Functional Test Specifications (FTS) (including performance tests) for the assigned onboard systems /li liAttend at system stand‑alone type test and review of type test reports /li liSupport onboard integration, performance testing and validation phases /li liReview design documentation with customers and suppliers /li liEnsure compliance with input requirements, international railway regulations and standards and project constraints (time, cost, quality) /li liPrepare the documentation required for vehicle approval and support the homologation phase /li /ul h3Required Skills / Knowledge /h3 ul liBasic knowledge of system engineering and requirements management disciplines /li liBasic knowledge of design verification and validation methodologies /li liBasic knowledge of electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering disciplines /li liGood knowledge of office automation software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) /li liAbility to work effectively in a collaborative, fast‑paced, international and multicultural environment /li liGood organizational skills, alongside team‑working, problem‑solving and results‑driven mindset /li liAbility to liaise with internal and external stakeholders (including suppliers, partners, customers) /li liAbility to work within project teams under minimal supervision /li liAvailability for occasional short‑term national and international business trips /li /ul h3Desired Skills / Knowledge /h3 ul liMinimum experience (1–2 years) in the Railway sector or in complex industrial environments /li liBasic knowledge of the main railway regulations and standards /li liBasic knowledge of IBM DOORS requirements management tool /li liBasic knowledge of engineering processes and railway operations /li liBasic knowledge of RAMS discipline /li liBasic knowledge of electrical / mechanical design software (AutoCAD, Creo, Catia, etc.) /li liFast learner with strong willingness to stay up to date with technological developments /li liGood business acumen combined with solid technical skills /li liGood communication and interpersonal skills /li /ul h3Education / Qualifications /h3 pMaster's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics disciplines preferred). /p h3Languages /h3 pKnowledge of written and spoken English (at least B2 level). /p h3Equal Opportunity Employer /h3 pAt Hitachi Rail, we welcome and value differences in background, age, gender, sexuality, family status, disability, race, nationality, ethnicity, religion, and world view.
