Trainline Advertising’s vision is to offer the most marketplace-centric advertising to connect rail and coach travellers with advertisers at the right moments. Trainline Advertising will enable advertisers to engage with our customers throughout the marketing funnel — from awareness to purchase and loyalty.

* About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join as the Head of Ad Sales, a founding member of our emerging Advertising team. You will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to achieve our direct advertising revenue targets across our EU markets (France, Italy, Spain & Germany).

* What you will do
o Develop and implement comprehensive ad sales strategies to meet revenue targets by EU market, collaborating across functions and lines of business.
o Build and maintain strong relationships with advertising agencies, direct clients, and industry contacts.
o Develop marketing and communications plans in partnership with Brand Marketing and Communications to create scalable sales collateral, B2B marketing, and PR strategies.
o Gain a deep understanding of our products, target audience, and customer needs to effectively position and sell advertising solutions.
o Work with Product Engineering teams to inform ad surfaces, inventory, formats, targeting, and pricing to facilitate advertiser engagement across various campaign goals.
o Create scalable campaign execution processes and reporting frameworks to ensure a top-tier advertiser experience.
o Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, and competitors to identify opportunities and risks.
o Partner with country leadership and finance teams to align on revenue targets and KPIs.
* Qualifications

We seek creative, humble, and data-driven ad sales experts eager to join a growth-oriented business. You should have a strong background in advertising sales, preferably within a marketplace or mobile app platform, with leadership experience and a passion for consumer behaviour and market dynamics.

o 8+ years in advertising sales, preferably in a marketplace or mobile app environment
o 5+ years leading an ad sales team
o Strong relationships with advertising agencies
o Experience in complex matrix organizations and fast-paced growth environments
o Excellent negotiation and closing skills
o Proven leadership ability to influence at all levels and inspire teams
o Hustler mindset, adaptable, and results-oriented
o Passion for advertising and understanding of market and consumer trends
