Overview

Junior Business Development Manager - Certification - North Italy. RINA is recruiting for a Junior Business Development Manager - Certification - North Italy to join its office in Dalmine, Bologna or Milano (Italy) within the Mediterranean & Africa Certification Division.

The mission of a Business Development Manager (BDM) is to drive growth and expand business opportunities for the organization. The BDM is responsible for increasing the pipeline offering and winning contracts for an assigned services portfolio and/or within an assigned geographical coverage with a specific target on mandatory services.

Responsibilities

* Drive and monitor order intake pipeline: manage the sales pipeline, ensuring a steady flow of orders.
* Monitor and analyze key performance indicators related to order intake.
* Update pipeline with new prospects: identify and add new potential clients to the sales pipeline; conduct research to assess fit with the organizations offerings.
* Lead and support on contracts, tenders, and quotations: actively negotiate and secure major contracts; provide support in preparing tenders and quotations.
* Contract closing and lessons learned: lead activities to close contracts; capture lessons learned to improve future processes.
* Cross-selling and mutual opportunities: collaborate with internal departments to identify cross-selling opportunities and leverage mutual opportunities across the RINA Group.
* Competitor tracking and intelligence: monitor competitor activities and industry trends; use insights to adapt and improve strategies.
* Sales and business development initiatives: generate new sales opportunities; conduct client visits and manage relationships with current and potential customers.
* Alliances and partnerships: identify and explore opportunities for alliances and partnerships; collaborate with external organizations to enter new markets.
* Customer engagement and satisfaction: engage with customers to understand needs and requirements; focus on customer satisfaction, repeat business, and development of new markets.
* Stay current with offerings and technology solutions: stay updated on current and future offerings and communicate technological solutions to customers.

Education and Qualifications

* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (General)
* Master’s Degree in Economics
* 1–3 years of experience in business development, sales, or related roles.
* Basic understanding of sales techniques, including prospecting, lead generation, and supporting deal closures.
* Motivation to contribute to achieving sales targets and willingness to grow into more senior responsibilities.
* Foundational negotiation skills and ability to manage relationships with clients, partners, and vendors.
* Analytical mindset to understand market dynamics, monitor competitor activities, and review performance data.
* Interest in developing knowledge of the industry, market trends, and competitive landscape.
* Familiarity with business development tools and technologies, such as CRM systems, and willingness to learn new digital tools.
