Mandarin Oriental, Lago di Como's Sommelier is in charge of suggesting and serving wine to all guests and customers in an impeccably manner, ensuring that quality standards are met at all times. Duties And Responsibilities Ensure that the wine list is continuously updated about trends, focusing on Italian and local products and labels. Serve all beverage orders in a professional manner, using the correct equipment and following the proper procedures. Be able to recommend wine to guests according to the requirements. Take beverage orders promoting up‐selling techniques. Advise and train the service team for what concerns all aspects of the beverage service. Ensure that all wine lists are updated and maintain an accurate sales record of wines and spirits. Control the stock levels of all beverage items. Assist with the service of food if and when necessary. Requirements Previous working experience in a fine‐dining restaurant, preferably in a 5-star luxury resort/hotel. Fluent in English and Italian.
