About the Role

The Business Manager (BM) has the goal to develop his own Business Unit (BU): a team of specialized engineers, which provides high‑tech consulting services to the clients, developing its growth, supporting it and making it profitable. The BM reports directly to the Industry Manager Railway and he/she is responsible for all commercial activities of the BU, developing relationships with the main players in the sector and he/she is responsible for the customers satisfaction of the services provided. Being the main operational and strategic decision maker, he/she is responsible for the following topics:


Responsibilities

* Business strategies and business development:
o Defining the strategies of the development and solutions selling of the Railway & Transportations sector;
o Developing commercial relationship with clients and prospecting;
o Managing the entire business life cycle;
o Cooperating in the development of strategic and operational marketing;
o Diversifying the existing services;
o Participating in the definition of the annual business planning.
* Customer relationship management:
o Strengthening the position in the existing business segments;
o Monitoring the customers activities, anticipating the needs and winning new projects;
o Managing the P&L of the business unit;
o Providing advanced P&L analysis, identifying potential issues and developing action plans to optimize revenue and contribution margin;
o Billing management;
o Managing the cash‑in process.
* Human resources management and recruitment:
o Participating in the recruitment activities (sourcing, interviewing, reporting, contract signing, etc.);
o Defining and monitoring the career development of the team (role allocation, assessment, key people engagement, etc.);
o Managing and balancing the workload of the team.


Qualifications

An Engineering degree is preferred, and an MBA is considered an additional qualification.


Required Skills

The experience gained in an engineering consulting firm is a must; the one in the Railway & Transportation fields is a nice to have. Strong entrepreneurial spirit, proactivity, outstanding communication skills, natural leadership, teamwork, empathy.
