Advanced Practice Provider
The Advanced Practice Provider plays a critical role in the high-risk newborn and infant care. In collaboration with attending physicians, this provider is responsible for managing patients with life-threatening or high-acuity conditions. Key responsibilities include conducting thorough patient assessments, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, making accurate diagnoses, documenting patient care, and performing procedures within their scope of practice.
Job Responsibilities
* Diagnose complex medical and surgical issues in high-risk newborns.
* Work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays, to ensure comprehensive care.
* Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and deliver effective care strategies.
* Maintain up-to-date expertise and skills to provide high-quality care and promote professional growth.
* Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to optimize care coordination.
* Accountable for ensuring that care plans are tailored to the developmental level of each patient.
* Utilize data from various sources to inform clinical decisions and improve patient outcomes.
* Participate in patient care activities, such as writing progress notes, coordinating care, and facilitating discharge planning.
Key Qualifications
* A Master's degree in Nursing or Doctoral degree (DNP) is required.
* APRN licensure in good standing throughout employment is necessary.
* Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Certification by the National Certification Corporation is mandatory.
* Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification must be maintained active and in good standing.
* American Heart Association BLS certification is also required.
* A Level II Background Check is necessary for employment.
* Successful completion of Credentialing by Medical Administration is required.
* At least 2 years of NNP experience is preferred.
