We are looking for a Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team in a Luxury 5-Star Hotel, supporting the Sous Chef and Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations and contributing to the consistent delivery of exceptional quality, hygiene, and presentation standards.
This role represents a key step in a professional culinary career, combining hands-on operations, leadership development, and exposure to high-level service within a dynamic, international environment.
Key Responsibilities
Culinary Operations & Quality
* Support daily kitchen operations across all sections (hot, cold, pastry, banqueting)
* Ensure consistency in food preparation, plating, timing, and presentation
* Oversee mise en place and support peak service periods and special events
* Ensure compliance with recipes, portioning, HACCP, and hygiene standards
Financial & Sustainability
* Support portion control, waste reduction, and proper inventory rotation
* Assist with stock monitoring and food cost awareness
* Promote sustainable practices, including the use of local and seasonal ingredients and efficient product usage
Leadership & Team Development
* Supervise and mentor junior team members (Commis, Apprentices)
* Support onboarding, training, and day-to-day guidance
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative kitchen culture
Innovation & Collaboration
* Contribute ideas during menu development and seasonal promotions
* Support tastings, events, and new dish rollouts
* Collaborate closely with the Sous Chef and Executive Chef to ensure operational excellence
Candidate Profile
* Previous experience in quality hotel or restaurant kitchens; luxury hospitality experience is a strong plus
* Solid culinary fundamentals, strong attention to detail, and passion for food quality
* Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining consistency and organization
* Team-oriented professional with strong values of care, respect, integrity, and continuous learning
