Xara Catering, part of the renowned Xara Collection, is seeking a skilled Pastry Chef de Partie to join our team. This role focuses on producing exceptional desserts, pastries, and sweet elements for high-end functions, weddings, luxury events, and outside catering operations.As Pastry Chef de Partie, you will oversee a designated pastry section, ensuring that every item—whether served onsite or prepared for outside catering—meets the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation associated with the Xara brand. Key ResponsibilitiesManage and carry out daily production within the pastry section, including preparation for banqueting and off-site catering.Produce high-quality desserts, pastries, petit fours, showpieces, and baked items according to event specifications and menu standards.Ensure all pastry items are efficiently packed, transported, and presented for outside catering events.Maintain exceptional standards of food quality, consistency, and visual presentation.Collaborate with the Group Pastry Chef, Head Chef, and Executive Chef.Maintain excellent stock control, portioning, labelling, and rotation in line with HACCP and food safety regulations.Work efficiently during high-volume service periods, ensuring deadlines and event schedules are met.Support the wider kitchen team during event setup, service, and breakdown when needed. RequirementsPrevious experience as a Chef de Partie in a pastry kitchen, preferably within catering, banqueting, or large-scale event environments.Formal culinary or pastry qualification, or equivalent professional training.Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and tight deadlines.Ability to remain calm, focused, and efficient under pressure.Excellent teamwork, communication, and leadership abilities.Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, public holidays, and off-site catering events.A strong passion for pastry craftsmanship, creativity, and continuous improvement.
