We are seeking an Avionics and Functional Architect.
The candidate will define the conceptual avionic architectures (Power, Data Handling, Guidance and Navigation, Communications), their system and subsystem requirements, and oversee the avionic design implementation in line with customer needs and requirements.
Starting from the main mission objectives, the candidate will develop operational, logical, and functional architectures, correlating them with system and subsystem requirements, operating within the MBSE / ARCADIA methodology.
The candidate will work within a system-level core team, interfacing with agencies and customers, requiring strong communication skills, a proactive problem-solving attitude, and team collaboration skills.
Must have a solid background in avionics to quickly define and manage complex avionic system designs.
Key duties:
1. Act as a member of the System Design Department focusing on avionics (Power, Data Handling, Guidance and Navigation, Communications).
2. Define and design system functional/avionics architectures and interfaces.
3. Perform functional analysis of complex space systems to meet customer needs.
4. Apply Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) methods.
5. Conduct trade-offs at spacecraft level (mass, power, dissipation, configuration, etc.).
6. Elicit avionics requirements and define hardware/software partitioning.
7. Oversee procurement of avionics sub-systems.
8. Coordinate verification and validation at subsystem and system levels.
9. Support quality assurance during manufacturing, integration, and testing activities.
10. Interface with customers.
Skills, experience, and qualifications:
1. Master’s degree in Engineering (preferably Electronic Engineering).
2. Experience in space-related disciplines preferred.
3. Knowledge of MBSE, ARCADIA methodology, and Capella tool.
4. Experience managing subcontractors technically and programmatically.
5. Leadership qualities for managing a technical team.
6. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
7. Willingness to learn new skills.
8. Fluent in English (spoken and written).
9. Knowledge of design and simulation tools like Matlab and Python is a plus.
