About the job
Based at Mandarin Oriental, Milan within the Room Service Department, the Commis de Rang is responsible for delighting and satisfying our guests. We are dedicated to making a difference every day and continually improving to ensure we are the best. The Commis de Rang reports to the Room Service Manager.
Responsibilities of the Commis de Rang include:
* Following the entering guest room rules and policies.
* Setting up trolleys as per standards and delivering In Room Dining orders to guest rooms and service apartments.
* Explaining ordered dishes to guests and presenting them attractively.
* Ensuring guests receive a personalized in-room dining experience, performed in a timely and complete manner.
* Performing billing tasks according to hotel standards and cashiering policies.
* Ensuring all dishes are presented in compliance with hotel standards and food & beverage specifications.
* Distributing guest amenities as required.
* Conserving outlet equipment and utensils through proper handling and carrying out side duties as assigned.
* Assisting in stock management, including linen, beverages, dried goods, and others, and arranging them accordingly.
* Maintaining up-to-date product knowledge.
* Listening to guests and observing body language to understand needs and expectations, aiming to delight and satisfy each guest.
Candidate requirements:
* Self-motivated with excellent communication skills, fluent in Italian and English.
