The Role
Our Sales Grocery Team ensures the onboarding of key Grocery Retailers in Italy that are not yet working with Deliveroo. As our business scales, we become a major revenue channel for Grocery Partners. We support our partners with data-driven insights and industry knowledge to drive growth. The team is passionate, dynamic, and skilled at building relationships.
What you’ll be doing :
* Pitch and close grocery partnerships proactively through various channels (cold calls, visits, meetings).
* Manage your pipeline to ensure high conversion rates and exceed volume and quality targets.
* Lead end-to-end sales negotiations and make attractive offers to achieve business objectives.
* Ensure smooth onboarding from registration to operational launch and sales generation.
* Support wider commercial initiatives like pitch days, marketing roll-outs, and cross-functional projects.
* This role is individual contributor; no team management involved.
Skills & Requirements :
* 4-7 years of B2B sales experience in groceries, retail, or FMCG (MUST).
* Passion for data and a data-driven mindset (MUST).
* Fluent in Italian and English (MUST).
* Strong knowledge of the GDO industry (MUST).
* Self-driven with a proven sales record and portfolio scaling appetite.
* Phone-based sales experience is a plus.
* Excellent communication skills across face-to-face, phone, and email.
* Perseverance and resilience in facing rejection.
* Competitive spirit and teamwork orientation.
* Lifelong learner with curiosity and willingness to test new ideas.
* High emotional intelligence and persuasive skills.
* Team player, collaborative mindset.
