Overview
Power Subsystem Engineer role at Thales Alenia Space (a joint venture between Thales 67% and Leonardo 33%). Thales Alenia Space is a global space manufacturer providing high-tech solutions for telecommunications, navigation, Earth Observation, environmental management, exploration, science and orbital infrastructures.
Position: Power Subsystem Engineer. Responsibilities and activities focus on power system analysis, architecture, and integration within space systems.
Responsibilities
* Perform detailed analyses on power sources (solar array, battery or DC power from other modules) to assess sizing correctness considering age and degradation due to single failure and compute relevant performance evaluation.
* Define power system architecture from received requirements from source to users.
* Define performance, interface and test requirements for the power system, power sources, and users.
* Specify and review technical documentation at subsystem/unit level, including applicable standards specifications, technical notes/analysis, test specifications and reports.
* Manage and/or participate in technical meetings with subcontractors and/or clients.
* Participate in design reviews with customers and suppliers as needed.
* Support failure analysis and assist in solution identification during unit development and subsystem / spacecraft integration phases.
Qualifications
* Master's Degree in Electronics or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent with Power specialization.
* At least 5 years of experience in at least one of the following areas:
o Design of power unit or electronic unit for power regulation
o System or subsystem power architect
* Deep knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access) and scientific tools such as Matlab/Simulink, MathCad, Visual Basic.
* English language proficiency (mandatory).
* Available for short business trips in Italy or abroad.
