Vastalla is a Turin-based tech SME. For nearly 20 years we've been running R&D activities across multiple projects, with a strong focus on the Space sector — though not exclusively. We're growing, and we want to bring in a senior technical figure full-time to lead the development team and work alongside the leadership on strategic R&D choices.
The profile in a nutshell
* PhD awarded no more than 6 years ago — preferably in Computer Science, Engineering (Electronics, Computer, etc.), or Physics. Mathematics, Chemistry and other adjacent fields considered only if paired with very strong, hands‑on software development skills
* Strong proficiency in C, C++ and Python
* Deep knowledge of Linux‑like operating systems; experience with real‑time operating systems (e.g., FreeRTOS) is a plus
* Familiarity with cloud ecosystems (AWS, GCP, Azure) and with embedded/firmware development (strongly preferred)
Qualifications
* Strong skills in Team Management and Team Leadership to effectively guide and support team members.
* Experience in Project Management, including planning, execution, and delivery of technical projects.
* Proficiency in Software Development and the ability to drive innovative solutions in an R&D setting.
* Capabilities in Troubleshooting and problem‑solving for addressing technical challenges.
* Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate with clients and technical teams.
* PhD, as stated above.
* Experience in industries such as space, aeronautics, or ICT is an advantage.
