We are seeking a highly motivated District Sales Manager to lead commercial growth and customer development across the Rome region. This role is responsible for driving sales performance across Air, Ocean, and Road freight, building key customer relationships, and leading a motivated sales team to deliver sustained revenue results. The ideal candidate brings strong logistics expertise, a strategic mindset, and a hands‐on approach to business development in the Italian market.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business DevelopmentGrow revenue across the Rome district by developing new business and expanding existing accounts within Air, Ocean, and Road freight.Build and execute district sales plans aligned with national commercial strategy.Monitor market trends and competitive activity to ensure agile decision-making and maximize opportunities.
Customer Relationship ManagementDevelop and maintain strong relationships with key clients across industries such as manufacturing, retail, fashion, automotive, pharma, and FMCG.Lead customer negotiations, manage escalations, and ensure best‐in‐class service delivery.Work closely with operations to ensure customer expectations are consistently met.
Team LeadershipLead and develop a district sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.Oversee a team of 3-4 FTE's.Set KPIs, track performance, and drive a high‐energy, results‐driven sales culture.Support training initiatives to strengthen product knowledge across Air, Ocean, and Road solutions.
Operational CollaborationPartner with operations, pricing, customer service, and product teams to deliver integrated logistics solutions.Provide accurate sales forecasts and pipeline visibility to senior leadership.Ensure compliance with internal policies, pricing structures, and operational standards.
QualificationsMinimum 5 years of management experience in freight forwarding, transportation, or logistics, with exposure to Air, Ocean, and/or Road freight.Minimum 3 years of sales experience in freight forwarding, transportation, or logistics.Demonstrated leadership experience managing sales teams or regional accounts.Strong understanding of the central Italian logistics market.Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship‐building skills.Fluent in Italian and English.Willing to travel within the Rome district as needed.
Preferred SkillsExperience developing multimodal solutions in competitive logistics markets.Existing network within the Rome and central Italy freight forwarding ecosystem.Strong commercial instincts with a proven track record of growing market share.CRM experience (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar).
