Job Summary
Account Manager
Essential Functions
1. Responsible for managing existing business and developing profitable growth in the area.
2. Focus on developing potential target customers based on specialization platforms.
3. Ability to sell at all levels of management and build relationships that ensure Avient retains priority in customer consideration.
4. Approach sales professionally using customer-centric selling skills, prospecting, developing a sales funnel, managing CRM, and cross-selling.
5. Understand key industry players, applications, requirements, trends, and needs; become an industry and product expert.
6. Coordinate with regional sales teams and technical areas to drive profitable growth through solutions selling.
7. Monitor competitors to understand threats and develop strategies to overcome barriers.
8. Implement pricing and market strategies consistent with Avient’s business practices.
9. Negotiate customer contracts and value packages to ensure acceptable returns.
10. Participate in strategy development, target market definition, and commercial strategy planning.
Education and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields.
Additional Qualifications
* Experience in sales, marketing, or technical/R&D in industries like chemical, plastics, or automotive.
* Ability to build long-term relationships and close deals.
* Strong negotiation and influencing skills; good business acumen.
* Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, Salesforce.com is desirable.
* Languages: English.
* Willingness to travel extensively in Italy (approximately 50%).
