Hitachi Rail is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Associate System RAMS Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will perform a range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Napoli or Genoa, Italy.

Mission :
Within the System & Signaling Integration department of the RAMS unit, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for RAMS and V&V governance. Your missions will include:
* Leading safety certification processes for rail transit systems from design to revenue service, ensuring compliance with contractual, company, and standards requirements.
* Coordinating with prime contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and RAMS staff.
* Producing hazard analyses and safety requirement verification checklists.
* Verifying and approving design, installation, and commissioning of all safety-related systems, including Train Control, Passenger Vehicles, Traction Electrification, Communications, UPS, Platform Screen Gates, and Fire Detection.
* Supporting engineering in finalizing interface designs to maximize safety and availability, in line with safety standards.
* Assisting the commissioning manager in identifying activities to ensure safety during various phases.
* Interfacing with local safety authorities for approval processes.
* Performing safety and V&V governance activities at the system level, coordinating subsystem RAMS referents.
* Contributing to on-time and within-budget delivery of systems and subsystems.
* Reporting to the Project RAMS Manager or Project Manager on status, deadlines, schedules, and budgets.
Projects :
* Supporting other projects as needed.
Responsibilities :
* Ensuring safety activities are executed during project bidding and delivery phases, including safety planning, preliminary analyses, and design reviews.
* Delivering safety analysis and documentation at system and subsystem levels in collaboration with safety functions, engineering, operations, maintenance, and external suppliers.
* Providing technical support to project managers and safety teams.
* Ensuring suppliers receive clear safety requirements and minimizing turnaround times for safety documentation and evidence.
* Defining corrective actions for safety non-compliance issues.
* Participating in audits of the Safety Management Organization.
* Developing and improving safety standard processes.
* Supporting management and interfaces with safety authorities and external assessors.
* Providing schedule and cost progress reports.
* Managing safety requirements and hazard logs in collaboration with safety engineers.
* Minimum experience: 1-3 years.
* Knowledge of CENELEC standards, verification & validation, RAM, and safety analyses.
