Amazon Web Services Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, supporting all data centers and the critical equipment that keep the cloud running. We look for talented people who help solve complex supply chain challenges.
Join a diverse team of software, hardware, network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other roles. You will collaborate across AWS to deliver the highest safety and security standards while scaling capacity cost‑effectively. The Subsea Engineering team, part of the Global Fibre and Subsea (GSF) team, plans, builds, and operates the AWS subsea backbone worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver submarine cable projects worldwide, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
* Lead Amazon’s representation in deployment and operational meetings, coordinating complex multi‑region projects.
* Drive project delivery to high standards, including quality, schedule, and cost.
* Build and maintain relationships with contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
* Support process improvement initiatives and continuous improvement in program delivery.
* Provide expertise in subsea amplified fibre‑based networks, route survey, route engineering, and marine operations.
* Analyze project risks, develop mitigation plans, and communicate status to stakeholders.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or equivalent, or equivalent technical internship experience.
* 5+ years of technical engineering experience.
* Direct knowledge and experience in the subsea telecoms cable industry.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience communicating clearly and concisely with leadership, stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams.
* Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
* Experience in marine survey, cable route engineering, and cable installation.
* Specific knowledge of Submarine Line Termination Equipment (SLTE) specification and deployment is desirable.
