The String Testing Mechanical Design Engineer oversees mechanical and piping design activities for assigned projects within the String Test cell. Responsibilities include delivering project documentation, drawings, and specifications related to P&ID definition, plant system layouts, piping, and structure design.
The role also involves participating in #Decarbonization initiatives with university partners and promoting #Digitalization and #Improvement of test methodologies, processes, and procedures.
The String Testing Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for:
* Executing string test designs (thermodynamic and mechanical) for turbo-compressors, electric motor-compressors, and turbo-generators, including P&ID diagrams, thermodynamic verification, piping design per ASME code, and supporting structure design.
* Formulating functional purchase specifications and data sheets for mechanical system components, ensuring technical alignment with suppliers.
* Managing external contractors and ensuring timely technical documentation delivery.
* Capturing lessons learned during the design process.
* Providing technical support during plant erection.
* Participating in team initiatives and presenting in technical reviews.
* Supporting the decarbonization roadmap of the String Test cell, focusing on mechanical system integration with the test facility and national grid.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
* A degree in Engineering (Energetic, Mechanical, Structural preferred) or related experience.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* The ability to manage multiple projects with high intensity.
* Leadership skills for cross-functional programs.
* Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical approach.
* Good knowledge of mechanical system integration in turbomachinery plants and commissioning.
* Fluency in English and Italian, with the ability to work in the EU.
