The is responsible for the mechanical design activities of all Systems and Equipment required for the proper development of any Upgrades Solutions. Typical systems involved in the projects are mineral lube oil console, liquid fuel forwarding skid, steel base frames, piping, valves, structures, air ducting for GT air intake and ventilation, while typical process equipment are pumps, motors, heat exchangers, filters, oil/air separators, balance of plant skids, and ventilation fans.
The Lead Mechanical Design Engineer will assure balance between design flexibility needs and strict product standardization adoption leading project management goals accomplishment in term of expected on time delivery, procurement and fulfilment technical support, cost-out strategy implementation, manufacturing needs, site installation and service support.
As Lead Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:
1. Defining plant layout, including eventual site survey, 3D modelling and assembling;
2. Performing/managing finite element analyses on base frames and structures to validate design
3. Issuing of technical documentation (drawings, Bill of Materials and purchasing specifications) for the assigned jobs with high focus on quality, completeness, consistency and alignment with customers and internal/international standards.
4. Designing mechanical systems and equipment performing the necessary calculations for systems sizing and components selection.
5. Assigning tasks associated to products design to engineering external companies and monitoring their progress and deliverables.
6. Supporting the manufacturing/site team during assembly/installation phase.
7. Attending design reviews and internal meetings with other functions or Customers to validate design.
8. Collaborating with procurement for proper design to cost and with suppliers for performing technical alignments.
9. Supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

To be successful in this role you will:
10. Hold a master’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Aerospace Engineering.
11. Have work experience in Engineering/Technology department for the Oil&Gas field.
12. Be familiar with turbo-machinery plant integration, maintenance procedure and site installation.
13. Have a basic knowledge of industrial manufacturing process and materials.
14. Experience in 3D designing/modelling using CAD software (Siemens NX or similar).
15. Have the capability to understand and interpreter modelled physic behaviour through specific tools (CAESAR, Matlab/Simulink).
16. Experience in Finite Element Analysis using ANSYS Mechanical tool (or similar).
17. Be a clear thinker: make decisions with speed and accuracy based on best available information.
18. Show interpersonal skills and ability to interface effectively with different levels of the organization and external Customers.
19. Have an entrepreneurial mindset that allows you to be self-directed, highly resilient, creative and solution oriented.
20. Be fluent in English and Italian and hold an EU work permit.
