Hyatt Thompson Rome is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic
Barman
to join our Food & Beverage team.
This role is ideal for a hospitality professional with a passion for mixology and lifestyle service, able to deliver engaging guest experiences while maintaining the highest standards of quality, professionalism, and consistency. The Barman works closely with the bar and outlet teams, contributing to the overall success of the hotel and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Bar Operations & Service
Welcome guests and provide a warm, engaging, and professional bar experience
Prepare and serve beverages according to established recipes, standards, and procedures
Take beverage orders and apply upselling techniques when appropriate
Present menus, answer guest inquiries, and make recommendations on beverages and pairings
Clear and reset bar counters and service areas throughout operations
Ensure full readiness of the bar, including mise en place, cleanliness, and organization
Beverage Knowledge & Quality
Demonstrate strong knowledge of classic cocktails, mixology techniques, and beverage trends
Support the creation and development of cocktail menus and seasonal offerings
Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and food handling standards
Be fully conversant with the Micros system and support accurate order processing
Guest Experience
Maintain positive guest and colleague interactions at all times
Deliver attentive, personalized service aligned with Hyatt brand standards
Support high-volume service periods, events, and special occasions
Contribute to a vibrant, lifestyle-driven bar atmosphere
Candidate Profile
Minimum of 1–2 years of experience as a Barman in a quality or luxury hospitality environment
Solid background in high-demand, fast-paced operations
Strong mixology skills and mastery of classic cocktails
Good knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
Excellent personal presentation and communication skills
Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining composure
Fluent in English and Italian; knowledge of French is a strong plus
Diploma in Hospitality or related field preferred
