We are looking for a Pastry Chef de Partie to join our Thompson Rome Pre-Opening Team!
He/She specializes in preparing, baking, and decorating high-quality desserts, pastries, and bread operating under the Pastry Chef supervisio. He/She follows the Pastry Chef instrucions in order to provide excellence, consistency, quality and creativity across all pastry offerings.
About the Role
Main Responsibilities:
* Production: Create and prepare a wide range of pastries, cakes, chocolates, and plated desserts for service.
* Section Management: Oversee the pastry station to ensure high-quality, consistent output, including during busy service periods.
* Quality Control: Ensure all items meet established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
* Inventory & Hygiene: Monitor ingredient stock levels, manage waste, and maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation following HACCP or USPH procedures.
* Menu Collaboration: Assist the Executive Pastry Chef in creating new, innovative menu items.
* Training & Supervision: Assist in training and mentoring junior pastry staff
Creativity & Collaboration
* Contribute creative input to pastry menus and seasonal offerings
* Support tastings, promotions, and new dessert rollouts
* Collaborate closely with the Sous Chef Pastry and Executive Chef
Candidate Profile
* At least 1 year experience as a Pastry Chef de Partie or strong Demi Chef de Partie in a luxury environment. Luxury hospitality experience is a strong plus
* Solid technical pastry skills with strong attention to detail and presentation
* Strong organizational skills and ability to perform under pressure while maintaining consistency and precision
* Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
* Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
