The GlobalPackaging Category Managerwill play a key role in developing and executing the global packaging strategy for the company's automotive lubricants product line. This role leads packaging category management, oversees supplier relationships, optimises packaging solutions, and drives cost savings across regions. The position is essential in ensuring packaging aligns with sustainability goals, regulatory requirements, and global supply chain needs.
- Lead the global packaging category strategy, including sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimisation for packaging solutions in the automotive lubricants sector.
- Collaborate with cross‐functional teams (R&D, Production, Logistics, Marketing, Sustainability) to develop innovative and cost‐effective packaging solutions that meet quality standards and enhance consumer experience.
- Manage global packaging suppliers, ensuring the selection of reliable, cost‐effective, and sustainable partners.
- Monitor and analyse market trends to drive continuous improvement in packaging design, sustainability, and cost reduction.
- Lead global initiatives to reduce packaging waste and increase the use of sustainable and recyclable materials.
- Ensure compliance with international packaging regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices.
- Develop and manage global packaging budgets, track expenditures, and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Report regularly on packaging performance, key metrics, and cost‐saving initiatives to senior leadership.
- Manage packaging innovation and collaborate with marketing teams to support new product launches and redesign efforts.
- Provide leadership and guidance to regional packaging teams and help build the company's global packaging capability.
Qualification and Experience
- Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Economics or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in packaging management or related procurement/supply chain roles, ideally within the automotive lubricants or consumer goods sector.
- Strong experience in global supplier management, packaging optimisation, and cost management.
- In‐depth knowledge of packaging materials, sustainability trends, and regulatory standards.
- Proven ability to lead cross‐functional teams and build strong stakeholder relationships.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market trends and convert insights into actionable strategies.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‐paced, global environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Fluent in English; additional languages beneficial.
