The Department of Economics at the European University Institute (EUI) invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professorship in Macroeconomics and related applied fields.

Candidates should have a very promising research profile. This means either of the following:
* If a candidate is set to complete the PhD in 2025, we expect them to have an excellent academic job market paper and at least one additional academic paper. This work should have the potential for publication in top field or general interest academic journals.
* If a candidate has completed their PhD some time ago, we expect a profile with a number of academic papers at a more advanced stage in the publication process (i.e., submitted to academic journals or in revise and resubmit), commensurate with the academic age of the candidate. The successful candidate will be expected to provide major input in research, teaching, and administration, as follows:
Responsibilities
* Research: develop and lead research in macroeconomics and related fields; promote integration with other research interests within the Department of Economics and with interdisciplinary research across EUI; maintain a high national and international profile of publications in internationally recognised journals; acquire research funding individually and in collaboration with others.
* Teaching and supervision: teach effectively postgraduate students in introductory and research seminars; attract research students to the EUI and provide co-supervision.
* Administration: contribute to the promotion of the EUI and to the transition of EUI alumni into professional and academic careers; manage research budget and seek outside funding; contribute to the general life of the Department and the Institute; promote cultural diversity in the Department and the EUI.
