Business Development Manager

Location : Assago (MI), Italy

Work Arrangement : Remote

Markem-Imaje is a trusted global manufacturer of product identification and traceability solutions, offering a full line of reliable and innovative inkjet, thermal transfer, laser, print and apply label systems. We deliver fully integrated solutions that enable product quality and safety, regulatory and retailer compliance, better product recalls, and improved manufacturing processes.

The Business Development Manager is responsible for selling Markem-Imaje’s solutions to customers in Italy. The role involves managing all aspects of the sales cycle, from prospecting and new business development to opportunity management.


What you will do

1. Understand the business strategies of target accounts, especially regarding serialization and the UniSecure solution.
2. Act as the main point of contact within target accounts for positioning and selling Markem-Imaje’s Serialization Product Tracking solution.
3. Develop and execute an annual business plan to guide and track progress.
4. Create and deliver presentations, white papers, and communications.
5. Conduct review sessions and roundtables with target accounts.
6. Establish yourself as a trusted advisor to your accounts, influencing their serialization initiatives.
7. Collaborate with product managers and directors to identify resource needs and product opportunities.
8. Maintain communication with customer and Professional Services teams to align on expectations and operational issues.
9. Report regularly to sales leadership and management.
10. Understand product packaging directions within target accounts.
11. Manage forecasts and maintain customer and prospect records in CRM, providing activity reports.
12. Stay informed about our products, solutions, and industry trends.


What you need to have

* Experience in consultative selling of solutions involving products and enterprise software services.
* A proven track record of exceeding sales targets.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively across functions.
* Strong communication skills, leadership, and consensus-building abilities.
* Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and negotiation skills.
* Intermediate level of English proficiency.
