As the Technical Sales Engineer for the Field Instruments business segment, you will focus on transforming customer inquiries into successful orders by offering the most suitable technical and commercial solutions based on the company’s product portfolio. This involves understanding customer needs, configuring products to meet specific requirements, and ensuring proposals are accurate and timely. The engineer acts as a key link between customers, internal teams, and factories to provide high-standard service and technical guidance. We look forward to seeing your application!In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:Take ownership of medium-complexity customer inquiries by transforming RFQs into orders, delivering tailored technical and commercial solutions that bring to bear the full product portfolio.Deliver top-tier customer service by promptly addressing technical and commercial questions, while seamlessly coordinating with internal experts to resolve specialized requests.Act as a trusted advisor by identifying customer needs, interpreting technical requirements, and collaborating with sales teams, factories, and multi-functional departments to develop the most effective solution.Configure and size products to meet specific application requirements, ensuring alignment with documentation, testing needs, lead times, and budget expectations.Prepare and manage detailed, accurate quotations using Oracle / MYEMERSON, providing expert technical recommendations and submitting competitive proposals within tight deadlines.Ensure alignment between purchase orders and the proposed solutions, proactively managing and resolving any technical discrepancies to maintain a smooth customer experienceWho You Are:You are a technically skilled and customer-focused engineer with a strong understanding of industrial solutions and a passion for delivering tailored, high-impact proposals. You thrive in collaborative environments, easily bridging technical and commercial needs. Proactive and diligent, you take ownership of challenges and get results with precision and clarity. Your strong communication skills and CRM expertise make you a reliable partner to both customers and multi-functional teams.For This Role, You Will Need:To succeed in the role you’d typically need a combination of technical knowledge, commercial competence, and strong communication skills.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, or similar)Solid understanding of engineering principles and ability to interpret technical specificationsAbility to balance technical accuracy with commercial viabilityCustomer focused attitude with a passion for providing high-quality serviceFluent in Italian and EnglishPreferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:A background or experience in industrial automation, valves/instrumentation, or process control systems is a strong plusExperience in preparing quotations, reviewing RFQs, and managing purchase ordersStrong command of CRM tools to manage leads, track customer interactions, and support the sales processInitiates action, detail-focused, and forward-thinkingExcellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal)Strong problem-solving and negotiation skillsOur Culture Commitment to YouAt Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
