JOB TITLE: Sales Director
TERRITORY: Europe
PLACE: Home Office - (Italy / Germany / Benelux)
JOB PURPOSE: Overall responsibility and accountability for the sales management activities across the region, which will include people and budgetary management. Taking key business decisions for overall business success and driving operational excellence.
REPORTING TO: Simpsons Division – Business Head
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Development and execution of sales plan to channel 20% revenue growth target annually. Set sales objectives and monitor ongoing progress towards required performance.
- Implement sales initiatives to target key demographics (Market /Countries) for new business development. Identify industries where dyes and pigments are used.
- Customer site visits to discuss their needs, sales promotion and to assess the quality of company’s relationship and collect market knowledge. KEY Account management.
- Support customer project management to cross functional activity required for business execution. Manage the accurate and on-time introduction of new product promotion.
- Give targets and monitor performance of sales team, discuss price quotations, samples feedback, projects and new business opportunities regularly.
- Provide leadership to departments under control and coach, mentor and develop direct reports and manage a high performing team that delivers target achievement.
- Benchmarking competitors: Analyze and collect competitor information to improve sales strategies.
- Diagnose causes of customer complaints and non-conformances, giving suitable solution with corrective actions and preventative measures.
- Implement a customer focused operational culture delivering world class customer service levels
- Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities.
- Resource planning – Recruit, provide training and evaluate work performance of departments under control. Manage team annual performance goals and departmental objectives including KPIs, and performance evaluation. Complete regular performance reviews, manage attendance, holidays, disciplinary issues and procedures as appropriate.
- Follow up critical debtors with sales team for timely payment and avoid bad debts.
- Discuss and provide weekly and monthly MIS report of sales team to headquarters.
SKILL / ABILITIES REQURIED: Candidate Profile
- Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimize team performance and development. Minimum 10 years’ experience managing sales team and commercial operations
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills. Fluent in writing and spoken English, other local European languages an advantage
- Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.
- Technical and commercial knowledge of industrial dyes and pigments
- Excellent business relationship management skills, persuading and influencing people to generate and secure higher levels of business.
- Build powerful presentations to deliver sales messages and overcome resistance.
- Structured powerful persuasive techniques in a patient, calm and effective way to resolve issues arising from different cultures and challenging situation.
- Use of IT ( SAP, CRM, Microsoft word, excel, access and Internet)
