Position Overview :
The Technical Support Specialist ensures proper computer operations for end users to accomplish organizational tasks effectively and efficiently. Responsibilities include receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and resolving end user help requests, using diagnostics and help request tracking tools, and providing hands-on support at the desktop level.
Key Responsibilities :
* Proactively monitor and support end-user hardware and software needs in a timely manner.
* Prioritize workload to resolve critical issues first.
* Install, upgrade, and configure hardware and software.
* Assist in testing new hardware and software before deployment.
* Configure and maintain mobile security and virus protection software.
* Maintain hardware and software inventories.
* Install, configure, and troubleshoot content management systems.
* Manage web environments, including internal and external websites, ensuring security, testing, quality assurance, and content management.
* Serve as backup for VOIP phone systems, cell phones, and printers/copiers.
* Create and maintain user documentation for the help desk.
* Maintain equipment functionality through repairs, following manufacturer instructions and procedures.
* Ensure confidentiality of organizational information.
* Participate in educational opportunities to keep job knowledge current.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory mandates like HIPAA and licensing agreements.
* Contribute to disaster preparedness planning for equipment and data security.
Position Requirements :
High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT preferred. At least two years of experience in a technology-related role, helpdesk/support experience preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft products (Azure, Office 365, SharePoint) and operating systems, with strong troubleshooting skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills required.
