Responsibilities
- Executing and leading the evaluation, design, analysis, testing, and integration of complex AI model serving solutions.
- Designing and reviewing serving architectures across multiple services, applying system‑ and service‑level engineering practices.
- Driving adoption of controlled rollout and rollback patterns to ensure safe and predictable production changes.
- Ensuring serving solutions meet performance, scalability, cost, and reliability expectations through proactive design and review.
- Leading or participating in cross‑team design and architecture reviews, ensuring consistency with serving and reliability standards.
- Providing technical leadership and mentorship to engineers across teams, promoting best practices in model serving.
- Collaborating with Platform & MLOps, Reliability & Support, Security, Data, and Product teams to resolve cross‑service challenges.
- Ensuring appropriate operational artifacts are in place, including documentation, runbooks, telemetry expectations, and integration guidance.
- Identifying systemic issues in serving solutions and driving improvements that raise the overall quality and reliability of AI services.
Qualifications
- Have a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.
- Have extensive experience delivering and operating production‑grade backend or AI‑enabled services.
- Have strong expertise in backend programming languages such as Python.
- Proven experience designing microservice‑based, cloud‑native architectures.
- Strong understanding of API design, versioning, and integration patterns.
- Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Have solid knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and DevOps practices.
- Have experience conducting design reviews, mentoring engineers, and influencing technical direction.
- Be able to communicate complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Have experience with real‑time AI inference, GenAI serving, and performance‑ and cost‑aware serving patterns is a strong advantage.

Salary
The initial pay range for this position will be EUR 51,200 to 70,400. The provisions of Contratto Collettivo Industria Metalmeccanica e della installazione di impianti will be applied to this position. Section VI – Titolo IV of that collective bargaining agreement relates to pay.
