A Delivery Area Manager leads a team of shift managers and associates in daily management at the delivery station, including meetings, training sessions, assigning job duties, and communicating with stakeholders including management representatives and their functional teams. This role manages site and/or complete areas/shift, as well as support functions and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
* Day-to-day management of inbound/outbound operations, focusing on the delivery of Amazon orders direct to customers.
* Lead a team of Process Assistants and Delivery Service Providers in daily management of the delivery station, including meetings, training sessions, assigning job duties, and communicating with DSPs including management representatives and their drivers.
* Ensure a safe workplace, properly trained people, and that their needs are addressed so they can focus on their jobs.
* Lead change at internet speed; leverage innovation to drive the organization forward.
* Route shipments within the Amazon Logistics coverage area.
* Support and assign job duties to process assistants.
* Adapt to sudden changes and growth according to operational necessities.
* Track and monitor sorting operation and driver dispatch.
* Review the operational forecast and determine productivity requirements for sort operation; manage a team to meet building goals.
* Support all safety programs to ensure a safe work environment for all associates and Delivery Service Providers.
* Identify and lead process improvement initiatives using Lean tools.
A day in the life
You’ll work on a shift pattern at one of our sites, focusing on productivity and a culture of safety while upholding quality and area performance standards. You’ll oversee process improvements and drive implementation. A typical day includes routine team management, daily operational responsibilities, process improvement, and wide-scale operational contingency tasks.

We utilize creative thinking and continuous improvement initiatives to get millions of physical products into the hands of our customers. Qualifications
* 3+ years of employee and performance management experience
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 3+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
* Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
* English Intermediate-Advanced (B2+)
Preferred qualifications
* 2+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
* Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field
