In the role of Commis de Rang at Grand Hotel Timeo, you will be an essential supporting member of our fine dining team, dedicated to ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of service and contributing to an outstanding guest experience. You will work closely with the Chef de Rang, learning the nuances of refined service and providing crucial assistance. Responsibilities
* Assisting the Chef de Rang with setting up tables, ensuring all cutlery, glassware, and tableware are immaculately presented.
* Serving water, bread, and other accompaniments to guests promptly and attentively.
* Delivering dishes from the kitchen to the dining room, ensuring proper presentation and temperature.
* Clearing plates, glassware, and cutlery from tables throughout the meal service, maintaining a clean and organized dining area.
* Replenishing service stations with necessary supplies, such as clean linen, crockery, and condiments.
* Assisting with the re-setting of tables for new guests efficiently and according to standards.
* Polishing cutlery and glassware to ensure a pristine appearance.
* Learning and understanding the menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods to effectively support the Chef de Rang.
* Responding to basic guest requests and relaying more complex inquiries to the Chef de Rang.
* Collaborating as a team player with all front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house staff to ensure seamless service.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting, even if not specifically in fine dining, is a plus.
* A strong desire to learn and develop a career in high‑end food and beverage service.
* Excellent work ethic and a proactive, "can‑do" attitude.
* Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast‑paced environment.
* Good communication skills and a polite, professional demeanor.
* Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and carry trays.
