Job Requirements
The Chef de Partie is responsible for managing and preparing a specific section and, where necessary, covering for colleagues in other sections, ensuring the highest quality of dishes and compliance with food hygiene and safety standards. Working closely with the kitchen team, the Chef de Partie contributes to the creation of a harmonious and productive work environment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate activities within their own section (e.g. starters, first courses, main courses, desserts).
- Prepare and cook dishes according to the restaurant’s recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure that all dishes are served aesthetically and promptly.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and other team members to plan the menu and develop new recipes.
- Check the freshness and quality of ingredients and raw materials.
- Monitor the proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the work area.
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff.
- Manage stock and assist in planning supply orders.
Work Experience
Requirements:
- Previous experience in similar roles within restaurants or catering establishments.
- In-depth knowledge of cooking techniques and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to work as part of a team and under pressure.
- Basic knowledge of the English language.
- Creativity and passion for cooking.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Experience in managing a specific section (e.g. fish, meat, pastry) is preferred.
