Additionally, Don Julio Restaurant Group invites aspiring culinary talents to embark on an enriching culinary internship at two of its eateries in Orlando: Don Julio Mexican Kitchen & Tequila Bar and Pisco Peruvian Gastrobar, with locations across Orlando and nearby areas.
Responsibilities
* As a cook trainee, prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
* Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications set by the restaurant.
* Restock items as needed throughout the shift.
* Maintain a clean station while practicing safety, sanitation, and organizational skills.
* Understand and know how to use and maintain all station equipment properly.
* Assist with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen.
* Perform additional responsibilities as requested by the Chef or Kitchen Manager.
* Prepare food: meat, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and cold items.
* Cover, date, and store all food preparation items correctly.
* Use food preparation tools following manufacturer instructions.
* Close the kitchen correctly and follow closing protocol per station.

* Projected monthly income: $2,240 (Hourly wage: $14)
* Projected costs for housing and transportation: $900 (Employer-provided housing alternatives available for $700)
* Meals provided during working hours
J1 Visa Program
This traineeship is part of a J1 visa program intended for young professionals, or recent graduates, to propel their careers, gain work experience, and improve skills through cultural exchange.
The J1 Visa process and application fees have a total cost of $1,870, broken down as follows:
* First payment due upon signing contract: $420 (non-refundable)
* Last payment due upon visa approval: $1,450 (includes $650 of mandatory health insurance)
Disclaimer: The first month of housing has to be paid by the candidate in advance. The employer does not cover airfare costs, which will vary depending on the candidate's city of departure.

Qualifications & Eligibility
To be eligible for a J1 Visa, you must meet the following requirements:
* You’re between the ages of 18 to 35 years old.
* You graduated from an accredited institution and hold a degree related to the job position, with at least 12 months of professional experience - OR you are a young professional with at least 5 years of work experience in the field.
* English Proficiency: Intermediate
* Language required: English; Spanish is a plus
