RSC Platform High-Speed Trains Product Manager

Purpose of the job:
Located ideally in the TDS and reporting to the Platform Products Director, Product Manager will act as the main point of entry of the Platform in Region and will coordinate the Product focused team in the TDS in order to:
Steer
development and product convergence
during bid and project phases (Coach, Challenge and Verify)
Provide
inputs to R&D; and sustaining plan, drive the plan
Be the
voice of the Region(s)"
to ensure needs are shared with the Platform
Be the
voice of the Platform in the TDS
to ensure adherence with Platform orientation
Key accountabilities:
Under the guidance of the Product Family Director
, review in detail the product solution in pre-tender phase
on required gaps vs Ref Sol based upon client requirements, and supports regions during BOR and Win-No Go preparation
Support the Product Director in
defining the Ref Sol
for the product family based on market trends & development initiatives
Challenge and validate any product solution changes
to reach better QCD targets during QCD reviews
Generate ideas and drive
product convergence
activities (exAT & exBT) wherever there is an overlap with other product in same family
Support the architecture proposal
and
validation
decision by the Product Director by making relevant detail analysis upon Product Director's request
Put in place objective evaluation of re-use on each tender as well as corresponding structured follow up in project
Pre-validate QCD for the Products Director (1st project application & specific product) or ensure robustness of QCD
Put in place adequate governance to ensure the
adherence to the product reference configuration
considered at tender stage (re-use), all along the project.
Will
participate to the Project Reviews
(CPR and MPR) preparation to comment on the adherence to the targeted product reference, to the Business Awards, as well as to any relevant Project team governance so as to alert on a possible deviation vs targeted product reference, and request for arbitration between Product Director and Project Manager if required,
Ensure robustness of the product project validation plan and associated results
Ensure the respect of DFQ principles on Projects (participation to Train GR)
Consolidate the REX from projects (Reliability, Safety Bulletin, Product design issue, Product sourcing issue, Product manufacturing issue due to design)
According to each Platform organization, coordinates locally sustaining activities and reflib update
Performance measurements:
Re-use on each tender
Product configuration adherence in project phase vs commitment taken in tender
REX from projects
Product Selection & gaps management to win
Experience :
Extensive technical and Alstom platforms knowledge and project/company background
Balanced skills between general management, technical management and project management
Strong leadership and ability to federate teams on technical orientations to reach QCD targets
Demonstrated capacity to lead cross-functional activities and numerous/various stakeholders
Ability for analysis, problem-solving and efficient decision-making in complex environment
Ability to work across sites in a multi-cultural environment
