The Gritti Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel belonging to Marriott International, is currently recruiting for a Chef de Rang. Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, the Chef de Rang will be part of a team of high-level professionals with a strong passion for F&B.
This is a seasonal, full-time contract role (40-hour working week). It offers an opportunity to work in a place of exceptional art and elegance, where history and culture meet Venetian style. The Gritti is known for impassioned service, a delectable culinary experience, and an intimate wellness haven, serving the world's elite at events like the Biennale, Carnival, and the Venice Film Festival.

The impact you'll make
You will share your menu knowledge and expertise with guests, ensuring a memorable dining experience through warm greetings, flawless table settings, and friendly service. Your goal is to make each guest's stay unforgettable.
What you'll be doing
* Welcome guests and promptly attend to tables
* Serve food and beverages, making recommendations as needed
* Assist guests with menu questions and special requests
* Record transactions accurately in the MICROS system
* Check guest satisfaction and ensure quality service
* Clean tables, complete closing duties, and restock supplies
* Communicate with the kitchen regarding orders, allergies, and special requests
* Follow cycle time guidelines and maintain cleanliness
* Inspect china, glass, and silverware for presentation and cleanliness
* Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and brand guidelines
What we are looking for
* Legal right to work in Italy with a valid work permit for full-time (40 hours/week)
* Fluent in English and Italian
* Understanding of F&B operations and luxury hospitality
* Positive, outgoing personality with great communication skills
* Experience in fine dining is an advantage
* Knowledge of Micros is preferred
This role requires physical ability to move and lift up to 25 lbs, stand or walk for extended periods, and maintain a professional appearance. Safety training and certification will be required prior to employment.
