The Product Specialist supports the Sales department in developing the brand strategy for Technopolymers products. The role involves developing product proposals and setting sales prices in line with commercial policies, verifying contribution margins. The Product Specialist provides the Sales team – and, where necessary, customers directly – with all relevant technical information and specifications regarding the products. In collaboration with the Innovation & Development department, he/she defines the technical requirements for new products and monitors their development phases. He/she works with the marketing team to promote the product, using a variety of channels, and continually consolidates their knowledge of the various markets by gathering information on applications and related technical requirements.
Main Activities
Monitors new projects and product approvals by the sales team at client sites, with a particular focus on ensuring product requirements are met.
Recommends products to sales representatives based on specific applications or their requests.
Interfaces with the R&D department in planning sample production activities, monitoring the workflow and setting priorities in consultation with management.
Interfaces with the sales force to promote the development and/or sale of strategic/innovative products agreed with management.
Responds to commercial enquiries by determining, based on both technical and commercial knowledge, if the product can be proposed to R&D for new development or if the product already exists in the existing product portfolio.
Collects existing technical documentation and coordinates with the technical department to produce it. Is responsible (where necessary in collaboration with marketing) for updating technical/commercial documentation for the promotion of new and existing products.
Provides the sales force with all technical and commercial information for the promotion of both new and current products.
Requirements Of The Position
Degree in chemistry or related studies or technical school diploma.
0–3 years of experience in the role.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Good knowledge of English, both written and spoken.
Residence or domicile in the area.
