One of our clients — a global leader in FMCG is currently seeking to hire a Trade Category Manager in Milano.
What will you do?
The Trade Category Manager role is key within the Business Unit. Reporting to the Trade Marketing Manager, you will be accountable for ensuring brand growth in the specialist channel, overseeing category strategy, coordinating promotional and visibility activities, and working closely with cross-functional teams.
- Develop and implement the category strategy, defining assortment guidelines per channel and promotional/visibility guidelines.
- Analyze sell-in and sell-out results monthly by channel/customer to understand drivers and barriers, and identify growth opportunities.
- Monitor competitor activities to detect market trends and identify further opportunities.
- Act as the category expert, developing the annual activity plan, aligning with key stakeholders, and leading execution with the cross-functional team (sales, operations, customer service).
- Evaluate promotional effectiveness and extract learnings.
- Develop the brand POS materials catalogue to ensure proper visibility in-store and drive sell-out.
- Manage A & P according to the assigned budget.
- Collaborate closely with sales teams, local marketing, and supply chain, building strong relationships to align strategies and ensure smooth execution.
Who are we looking for?
- University degree in Business, Economics, or similar.
- 5 years of experience in trade marketing within the FMCG sector.
- Strategic mindset with a hands‑on profile; field experience is a plus.
- Fluent in English.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Results‑oriented: proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving business growth.
- Strong communicator: excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization.
