Overview We are looking for an Industrial Sales Engineer to join our FEWIBU team in Italy. Purpose of the job Primarily sales responsible for developing the market in the assigned area for all Sulzer portfolio within Industrial market. Working closely with the regional sales management and supported by regional and global teams, the role will be responsible for developing and executing local strategies for profitable growth that support the objectives of the overall business plan. Synthesis of the role Door-to-door visits or scheduled appointments. Product demonstrations. Order collection and post-sale follow-up. Performance monitoring and reporting. Main tasks and responsibilities Full order intake sales and profit responsibility for Italy (Industry). Define local plans and actions for the tactical deployment of the Sulzer Industry business unit sales plan within the country. Define, develop and execute local plans based upon the business strategy leading to the achievement of agreed financial and market targets. Provide management feedback on local market conditions; including competitor activity, customer trends and pump / agitator / compressor investment trends. Homologation of SULZER as a supplier in the key Italians OEMs EPCs and end users. Execute tendering activities together with the local sales support team. Supervise and follow-up the tendering activity associated to Italy. Prepare main tenders with careful reading of customers specifications, product selection, pricing calculation, and related tools. Negotiations and participation in clarification rounds and kick-off meetings. Supervise the order handling and follow up of projects from tendering to financial closure and maintain and execute customer order backlog of assigned territories/accounts. Plan, direct and control the customer support function in Italy. Develop and foster relationships with selected key customers. Suggest ideas to increase sales effectiveness and participate in company initiatives. Maintain high levels of communication and information sharing with the team/peers. Assist Management on reporting (budget, rolling forecast, monthly business report, etc.). Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations concerning business operations. Familiar with environmental risks and hazards and the measures to manage and mitigate impact. Measured by : Key performance measurements Operational excellence, customer partnership and commitment KPIs: OI, Sales, GP, EBIT & ONCF according to Corporate Policy and Global bonus system goals defined yearly. Qualifications and requirements To succeed in this role you will need : Educational background University degree in Engineering or related field / equivalent education. High professional use of Microsoft products: Excel, Outlook, Word, etc. Demonstrable experience with a CRM (Sales Force preferably). Previous experience on an ERP system (SAP) will be positive. Professional experience incl. markets international experience etc. Solid sales experience in pump business industry. In-depth knowledge of pump, agitation and compression businesses. Professional experience to formulate and implement a local business strategy. Readiness to travel frequently in the country and occasionally in the region. Personal strengths : Product knowledge: After training must have in-depth knowledge of the product to answer questions, overcome objections and build trust. Sales techniques: Uses persuasive strategies such as consultative selling, cross-selling and up-selling. Time management: Organizes daily visits and activities independently to maximize results. Effective communication: Listens actively, speaks clearly and adapts language to the customer. Empathy: Understands customer needs and builds trust-based relationships. Resilience: Handles rejection and challenges with a positive and determined attitude. Autonomy: Often works independently with specific goals to achieve. Determination: Motivated by achieving results and earning incentives. Flexibility: Adapts to variable schedules and diverse environments. Other skills to complete the profile : Problem solving and conflict management. Open for changes; demonstrates willingness to change. International thinking and acting. Ability to operate at all levels externally and internally. Ability to handle confidential matters with integrity. Able to integrate LEAN directives. Languages English (mandatory) Italian (mandatory) Other European languages will be considered as a plus. Decision authority: According to delegation of authority and respective policies / guidelines.
