Summary / Role Purpose
The Senior Product Sales Manager (SPSM) is responsible for leading and supporting collaborative sales efforts to grow one or more product lines. This involves building strong partnerships with field sales teams and channel partners. The SPSM aims to meet sales quotas for their assigned product lines and contribute to overall product success within an overlay structure.
The successful SPSM will ensure profitability and growth of specific products by fostering partnerships and demonstrating excellent presentation skills. They should be adept at identifying customer needs and developing compelling value propositions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Execute product sales activities to meet or surpass revenue goals for assigned product lines.
2. Engage in sales via phone and face-to-face interactions.
3. Collaborate with field and enterprise sales teams and channel partners to develop strategies that drive revenue.
4. Identify opportunities within current and new accounts for specific products and pass leads to the sales team.
5. Communicate updates on product capabilities, success stories, and strategies to sales and technical teams.
6. Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective customers to generate new business.
7. Participate in industry events and trade shows.
8. Create tailored solution presentations highlighting product advantages and positioning Ansys as a superior choice.
9. Coordinate technical support for demos, proof of concepts, evaluations, and training.
10. Assist in developing proposals, quotations, and value propositions for customers.
11. Provide feedback from clients to product development and marketing teams.
Minimum Education/Certification and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, business, or related field, with 4+ years of sales or consulting experience in engineering/technology applications, or 6+ years with a proven success record.
* Ability to work cross-functionally across teams and hierarchies.
* Independence in work with minimal supervision.
* Understanding of market positioning and sales fundamentals.
* Strong collaboration skills across global teams.
* Problem-solving aptitude for customer solutions.
* Fluency in English and local language of the territory.
* Willingness to travel up to 50%.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
* Knowledge of company products/services and pricing strategies.
* Understanding of engineering analysis and technology.
* Excellent communication, organizational, presentation, and persuasion skills.
* Proficiency in networking via face-to-face and digital channels.
