RINA is currently recruiting for a SHM and BIM Specialist to join its office in Rome or Naples, Italy, within the Italy Infrastructure Mobility Division.MissionThe ideal candidate will be involved in technical activities for international bridges structural health monitoring projects.Key AccountabilitiesDevelopment of preliminary and detailed design activities for structural monitoring systems, mainly focused on civil infrastructures (bridges, viaducts, dams, and buildings);On-site supervision for installation of structural monitoring systems;Coordination and control of technical activities provided by suppliers related to the structural monitoring system;Management and coordination of all technical aspects with end customers and construction partners;Managing interfaces between the structural monitoring system and other systems;Supporting tender teams on all aspects related to the structural monitoring system;Data analysis and reporting;Factory and site installation and testing activities for the structural monitoring system;Development of systems for processing and analyzing SHM data for damage detection, localization, and quantification using Machine Learning techniques;Development of BIM-based platforms for monitoring data visualization.EducationMaster’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic/TLC Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.QualificationsAt least three years of experience in developing preliminary and detailed projects for structural monitoring systems;Knowledge of traditional sensors (accelerometers, inclinometers, strain gauges) and fiber optics technology;Proficiency in English;Availability for worldwide missions;Good knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD);Familiarity with accounting programs (Primus or Bluematica);Basic knowledge of data analysis software (Matlab, LabVIEW, Octave, Python, Artemis Modal Pro) is advantageous;Good knowledge of MS Project or Primavera.Additional preferred requirementsBIM Specialist certification, especially in MEP (minimum 2 years' experience);BIM Coordinator or BIM Manager certification (minimum 3 years' experience);Knowledge of Autodesk applications, including AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Rhinoceros;Ability to set up workflows on Autodesk Construction Cloud or similar platforms.Core CompetenciesAddress the way - Big picture thinking and reinterpretation;Build network - Trust-building across departments and outside the organization;Client intimacy - Embracing client needs and expectations;Earn trust - Considering everyone's opinions and remaining open to diversity;Make effective decisions - Prioritizing activities based on resources and constraints;Manage emotions - Recognizing and regulating emotions;Pioneer change - Embracing and benefiting from change;Promote sustainable development - Acting as a role model and keeping commitments;Think forward - Translating experiences into future action plans.With over 5,600 employees and 200 offices in 70 countries, RINA provides certification, marine classification, product testing, site supervision, vendor inspection, training, and engineering consultancy services across various sectors.
