The Marine Technical Sales Specialist supports the growth of FPT Industrial's Marine business by combining strong technical expertise with commercial strategy. The role focuses on promoting FPT Marine engines, powertrains, and hybrid solutions to shipyards, fleet operators, naval architects, distributors, and system integrators.The ideal candidate acts as a technical ambassador for the FPT brand, ensuring that customer needs are translated into the right product configuration while driving new business opportunities in line with FPT Industrial's strategic roadmap.Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer & Market Development- Become the technical reference with FPT Distributors, shipyards, commercial fleets, governmental agencies, distributors, and OEM partners across assigned regions.- Promote FPT Marine engine families (e.g., NEF, Cursor, Vector) and hybrid/auxiliary solutions.- Technical support for business opportunities in expanding FPT's market share in commercial, pleasure, and special‐application marine segments.Technical & Commercial Support- Provide customers with in‐depth technical guidance on engine selection, power ratings, duty cycles, cooling systems, certification requirements, emissions compliance, and installation best practices.- Prepare technical proposals, cost estimates, and product configurations using FPT tools and systems, supporting Commercial Team.- Collaborate with Engineering, Product Marketing, Application Engineering, After‐Sales, and Quality teams to ensure feasible and competitive solutions.Project Lifecycle Management- Support customers throughout all project phases: concept evaluation, feasibility, design-in, factory acceptance, commissioning, and post‐delivery support.- Participate in sea trials, technical workshops, and audits when required.- Provide structured feedback to FPT Industrial's global teams to support product development and portfolio evolution.Internal Collaboration- Become Marine technical reference for FPT Organization, working across Commercial Teams and Program Management / Platform functions- Contribute to Marine business planning, pricing strategies, and portfolio growth initiatives.Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related technical discipline.- Proven experience in technical sales, application engineering, or business development within the marine industry.- Strong understanding of marine propulsion, diesel technology, hybrid systems, and vessel integration.- Ability to interpret specifications, drawings, and class requirements (RINA, DNV, ABS, Lloyd's, etc.).- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.- Availability to travel (domestic and international).Preferred Qualifications- Direct experience with marine diesel engines, powertrain systems, or propulsion integration.- Familiarity with FPT Industrial's product portfolio or similar heavy‐duty engine manufacturers.- Knowledge of hybrid/electric propulsion trends and emissions technologies (SCR, DOC, DPF, etc.).- Multilingual abilities.Soft Skills- Customer‐centric mindset- Strong technical curiosity and problem‐solving ability- Cross‐functional teamwork- Self‐motivation and autonomy- Adaptability in a highly dynamic global industrial environment
