Axpo Servizi Produzione Italia is looking for a driven Biomethane Business Developer to join its growing team and directly shape the expansion of the biomethane portfolio. Working alongside the Business Development team, you will take ownership of sourcing and structuring new growth opportunities, both through M&A and greenfield development.
Key Responsibilities: Business Development & M&A Proactively identify, originate, and evaluate acquisition targets (greenfield and/or brownfield), support and lead co-development opportunities in biomethane
Support the full M&A process from initial screening and due diligence through negotiation and deal closing
Build and maintain a live pipeline of opportunities through market intelligence, network activation, and targeted outreach to agricultural producers and independent project developers
Develop and present investment cases, including contributions to financial models and risk assessments, to support internal decision-making
Permitting & regulatory affairs Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of permitting processes for biomethane projects (grid injection, biomethane certificates, environmental authorizations, etc.)
Act as the internal reference point for regulatory developments affecting project viability and timeline
Coordinate with external consultants, legal advisors, and public authorities to ensure the obtainment of permits
Be the focal point for all matters related to biomethane incentive schemes (PNRR, tariffs, etc.)
Cultivate strong, trust‐based relationships with a broad ecosystem of stakeholders: landowners, agricultural cooperatives, municipalities, energy suppliers, off‐takers, and industry bodies
Represent the company at industry events, forums, and trade associations to reinforce market presence and surface new opportunities
Requirements: Degree in Engineering, Business, Environmental Sciences, or a related field
5+ years of experience in business development, with meaningful exposure to biomethane, biogas, or the broader renewable energy sector
Demonstrated track record of originating and closing deals or development projects
Hands‐on familiarity with biomethane permitting processes, and biomethane incentive schemes
Experience engaging with agricultural or industrial feedstock stakeholders is a plus
Strong commercial instinct
Excellent negotiation skills and ability to build trust with diverse counterparts
Rigorous and organized, able to manage several workstreams simultaneously without losing sight of priorities
Intellectually curious and up to date on sector trends, policy shifts, and technology developments in biomethane and adjacent markets
