About the Position
Join Casa Tua Life as a Sommelier at Hotel La Palma, Capri’s first luxury hotel undergoing transformation. This exclusive 50‑room property is located steps from the famous Piazzetta and features a rooftop restaurant and bar, a beach club, a new pool deck, a spa and a high‑fashion boutique.
Responsibilities
- Recommend wine varieties to guests and enhance their dining experience.
- Oversee wine service and ensure consistent quality.
- Collaborate with winemakers to refine the selection and negotiate advantageous pricing.
- Create and update the wine list in coordination with the Wine Manager.
- Recommend food and wine pairings based on guests’ preferences and menu choices.
- Provide information on wine varieties, pricing, serving temperature and glassware.
- Store open bottles correctly to preserve quality.
- Manage and fully stock the wine cellar.
- Train wait staff on available wines.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sommelier or similar hospitality role, or experience within a vineyard.
- Strong ability to craft refined pairings.
- Extensive knowledge of wines and their regional characteristics.
- Familiarity with local vineyards and the winemaking process.
- Excellent communication skills and professional courtesy.
- Availability to work during operational hours, including weekends and holidays.
