We are looking for a Senior Business Developer to join our Italian Team to help us to acquire, to develop and to build utility scale renewables energy plants in Italy, reporting to the Country Manager, among your areas of responsibility will be the following: Key Responsibilities Project Development Lead the end-to-end development of utility-scale renewable energy projects (solar PV, wind, and energy storage), including process definition, structuring, and execution. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the full project lifecycle—from site identification through to commercial operation. Define project scopes, key milestones, deliverables, and timelines in collaboration with internal teams and development partners. Monitor project schedules and ensure timely progress in line with established timelines and strategic goals. Forge and maintain strategic partnerships with companies across the renewable energy value chain to unlock new development opportunities. Oversee due diligence processes for the acquisition of third-party projects, ensuring alignment with corporate investment criteria. Manage and allocate resources efficiently across active projects, optimizing cross-functional collaboration and ensuring alignment with portfolio objectives. Review and negotiate development service agreements with partners to ensure consistency with company strategy and commercial interests. Supervise, guide, and mentor junior business developers, providing day-to-day support, technical direction, and professional development to strengthen the team's capabilities. Planning and Strategy Coordinate closely with cross-functional departments—Planning, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and EPC—to align on project strategy and execution. Define measurable KPIs and monitor operational performance, implementing continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and profitability. Establish project-specific objectives and deadlines, ensuring disciplined execution within scope, timeline, and budget constraints. Ensure effective team collaboration, communication, and accountability throughout the development cycle. Maintain proactive engagement with public authorities at local, regional, and national levels to facilitate permitting, approvals, and regulatory compliance. Monitor technological advancements (e.g., battery storage, green hydrogen, hybrid systems) and evaluate their integration into existing or future projects. Stay abreast of evolving market regulations and policies impacting the renewable energy sector, translating insights into strategic opportunities for the company. Required qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field. Demonstrated experience in successfully developing renewable energy projects in Italy, including land acquisition, stakeholder negotiations, grid connection, and permitting processes. In-depth knowledge of renewable energy technologies, systems, and industry standards. Proven ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, cross-functional, and international environments; experience within multinational or global companies is highly desirable. A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, preferably with a focus on PV and energy storage systems. Full professional proficiency in English is required; fluency in Italian is also essential. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with landowners, local authorities, partners, and internal stakeholders. Excellent project management and organizational skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making. Strategic mindset, with the ability to align business development efforts with broader company goals and market trends. Leadership capabilities, including experience managing or mentoring junior team members, and fostering a collaborative team environment. Clear and persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal, tailored to diverse audiences (technical, regulatory, financial, etc.).
