The data handling subsystem is responsible for receiving commands decoded by the Radio Frequency system, running onboard software, and interfacing all onboard electronic units including payload and mass memory.
We are seeking a Senior Data Handling Subsystem Designer responsible for:
1. Design and specification of the Data Handling subsystem and associated units (OBC, RTU, Mass Memory)
2. Design and specification of electrical and communication interfaces among DH units and with system avionics
3. Support in the design and specification of communication protocols used by DH subsystem buses (MIL1553, CAN, SpaceWire, TTEthernet, RS232, RS422, RS485, SPI, I2C, etc.)
4. Procurement of DH subsystem and relevant units, following subcontractor activities
5. Support for DH subsystem integration and testing (AIT) with system avionics
6. Definition and specification of DH test benches for subsystem validation via Processor In the Loop (PIL), Hardware In the Loop (HIL), and Closed Loop tests
Qualifications and skills required:
1. Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, preferably focusing on Embedded Systems or Computer Science
2. At least 4 years of experience in DHS design or testing at subsystem or unit level
3. Technical knowledge in multicore space-qualified microprocessors (e.g., LEON, PPC) and development environments (GRMON, UBOOT, ECLIPSE)
4. Knowledge of space-qualified components used in DH units (Memories, FPGA, ADC, DAC, etc.)
5. Proficiency in structured programming languages (C, C++) and Assembly
6. Knowledge of Real-Time Operating Systems (RTEMS, VxWorks) is a plus
7. Experience with modeling tools (Matlab/Simulink, PSPICE) is advantageous
8. Knowledge of VHDL and FPGA synthesis tools is beneficial
9. Proficiency in English
10. Willingness to work abroad for short periods
11. Ability to collaborate with culturally diverse teams
12. Strong team working skills
