We nurture talent across diverse skills, cultures, and disciplines to connect, secure, observe, protect, explore, travel and navigate the space domain. /p h3Key duties /h3 ul liDefine specific mechanical/structural requirements derived from customer high‑level specifications. /li liSupport concept and trade studies in coordination with System Engineering to drive architectural choices. /li liDevelop mechanical architecture for complex systems. /li liPerform design and analysis tasks on metallic and composite structures, considering manufacturability and integration constraints. /li liDevelop/construct basic FEM and run structural/dynamic analyses for sizing and design decisions. /li liPrepare procurement specifications for structures, systems and subsystems. /li liManage technical follow‑on of structures procurement up to delivery, including subcontractor management. /li liProvide engineering support for development and qualification of manufacturing processes for mechanical hardware. /li liAssist with hardware integration and final testing. /li liSupport preparation of test plans and specifications for mechanical static and dynamic tests. /li liProvide input to Quality Assurance for discussion and disposition of NCRs affecting mechanical parts during manufacturing, integration, and testing. /li liParticipate and present in internal and external meetings and reviews. /li /ul h3Skills, Experience and Qualifications /h3 ul liMaster’s degree in Engineering. /li liMandatory prior experience in the discipline and field (Space). /li liExperience managing subcontractors from both technical and programmatic viewpoints. /li liLeadership of a technical team. /li liKnowledge of structural main requirements and relevant solutions for space‑station manned modules, satellites, and re‑entry vehicles. /li liUnderstanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and techniques relevant to structure/mechanical constituents. /li liExperience with mechanical analysis tools such as NASTRAN or FEMAP preferred. /li liStrong hand‑calculation and engineering judgment skills. /li liPreferred knowledge of fracture mechanics and fatigue. /li liTeam‑oriented attitude and multi‑disciplinary collaboration. /li liAvailability to work in shifts if required by the program. /li liExcellent written and spoken English. /li liRespect for company hierarchy, rules and discipline. /li liCommitment to budgeting and schedule constraints. /li liPh.D. and/or Master’s in Space Engineering highly appreciated. /li /ul h3Seniority level /h3 pNot Applicable /p pAt Thales Alenia Space, we provide careers, not just jobs.
