Ph3Overview /h3pDescription Progress Rail Signaling Spa is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Hardware Designer. The position is based in Italy and it’s open to our office in Pistoia. /ph3Job purpose /h3pThe business environment relies heavily on hardware for many functions inside automated traffic control systems, and the Hardware Engineers are pivotal in the development of components that provide real solutions. A Hardware Engineer needs to address the entire hardware development lifecycle - to analyze the needs, and then design, test and develop hardware in order to meet those needs. /ph3Responsibilities and Accountabilities /h3ulliHardware Components Design: design new products and maintain all Digital and Analog electrical boards and interconnects for ECM Field Equipment Components (FEC). /liliEvaluate new software and hardware during deployment to ensure smooth functioning of the system. /liliDevelop and implement product designs and provide support to production, ensuring compliance to time-frame, quality and cost targets. /liliManage technical aspects and monitor efficient deployment of new technologies and systems, following the SIL4 development process, as prescribed by EN 50126 and 50129. /liliTest and document progress; analyze data and modify components as necessary to achieve a final product that operates seamlessly. /liliCoordinate with product development teams to perform Design for Testability (DFT) on the design cycle. /liliCollaborate with colleagues from hardware, mechanical and software teams; collaborate with outsourced Validation and Manufacturing partners to ensure timely supply of systems and devices as per specification. /liliCoordinate with client’s engineering team and management to ensure efficiency. /li /ulh3Experience and qualifications /h3pA strong background in Electronic Engineering is required. The minimum educational requirement is a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering or a similar discipline, though a master’s degree can increase job prospects.
